Prachi Henna Art, LLC: Where Tradition Meets Modern Creative Expression
At SACH, we celebrate South Asian creatives who are carving out spaces for authentic storytelling and community-driven art. This month, we’re excited to spotlight Prachi Henna Art, LLC (PHA)—an Athens, Georgia–based creative design agency founded by Prachi Patel, a visionary artist blending henna traditions with contemporary design, intersectional identity, and digital innovation.
Prachi Henna Art has grown far beyond the world of henna services. It’s now a hub for original world-building projects like the Bubbleverse, community collaborations, and culturally rooted art initiatives that center authenticity, inclusivity, and creativity.
We sat down with Prachi to talk about her journey, mission, and dreams for the future of PHA.
Mission & Vision
What inspired the formation of your collective?
Prachi Henna Art was born from a desire to blend traditional henna art with contemporary storytelling and design—creating a space where intersectional identity meets modern expression. The goal from day one was to uplift marginalized voices and build a creative community rooted in authenticity and celebration of identity.
How would you describe your mission in one sentence?
“To empower and uplift through authentic and original henna art and creative storytelling while fostering an inclusive community that celebrates diversity and artistic innovation.” Since the beginning, PHA has lived by the motto: If we’re not all friends, what’s the point?
What gap or need in the community do you hope to fill?
Prachi explained that PHA fills a crucial need for authentic representation of queer South Asian artists and creatives. “We provide a platform that prioritizes cultural integrity, inclusive collaboration, and accessible art experiences—both online and in person.”
How has your mission evolved since you first started?
“What began as a simple motto and henna services has grown into a full creative design agency,” Prachi shared. “Now, we’re producing original intellectual properties like the Bubbleverse, diving into cosplay collaborations, and leading community-centered art projects across multiple mediums.”
Identity & Values
What does your name stand for or symbolize?
“Prachi Henna Art” combines personal identity with cultural tradition: Prachi’s name rooted in her South Asian heritage, and Henna Art honoring the centuries-old craft that inspired her creative journey.
How do your personal identities or backgrounds shape the work you do?
Growing up across multiple Southern states, Prachi says her lived experiences deeply shape PHA’s direction—bringing together cultural traditions, modern intersectional identities, and a vision of community healing through art.
What core values guide your collective’s decisions and collaborations?
PHA’s work is grounded in authenticity, inclusivity, respect for cultural heritage, originality, transparency, and uplifting artists’ time and contributions.
Process & Projects
Can you share a bit about your creative process or how you work as a team?
“Our process begins with research, lived experiences, and storytelling,” Prachi explained. “From there, we move into detailed handwork in henna and mixed media design. Collaboration is key—whether it’s with Sierra Smith of Cafe Heart Projects or through 2 Peaches in a Pan, our joint art showcase celebrating queer food, art, fandom, and friendship across Georgia.”
What kinds of projects or initiatives do you typically take on?
PHA offers freestyle-only henna services, original character and world-building projects like the Bubbleverse, cosplay partnerships, mixed media art, and custom illustration work—including henna-inspired tattoo-ready designs. “I’m not a licensed tattoo artist by choice,” Prachi shared, “but I provide designs that bridge cultural art and permanent body art with intention and integrity.”
Any current or upcoming projects you’re excited about?
Prachi lit up talking about Slime Con, a trading card game in partnership with Custom Coded Technology Solutions. Other priorities include expanding the Bubbleverse, launching new Ko-fi exclusives, and growing her tattoo design offerings for clients worldwide.
Impact & Community
What impact do you hope your work has on your community?
Prachi Henna Art aims to create safe, vibrant spaces where queer and South Asian identities are celebrated, and where people of all backgrounds can explore creativity, cultural pride, and self-expression.
How do you engage with your audience outside of social media?
“We host in-person art events, collaborate with local groups like The Peach Pitt, and show up at conventions and community gatherings,” Prachi said.
Can you share a moment when you realized your work was making a difference?
“The Peach Pitt community formed organically after friends met through events like MomoCon and CBF Isekai,” she recalled. “When followers told us our art helped them connect with their culture and identity—that’s when it hit me how much impact this work can have.”
Philosophy & Culture
How do you define success for your collective?
“Success means building a sustainable creative business that honors cultural roots, fosters community growth, and pushes artistic boundaries—without compromising authenticity.”
What does ‘collective’ mean to you beyond just collaboration?
“To me, it’s about shared values, mutual empowerment, and amplifying marginalized voices through creative work rooted in respect and connection.”
How do you deal with challenges or creative disagreements?
“Open communication, respect for diverse perspectives, and staying grounded in our core values keep us moving forward.”
Why Follow & Support
For someone discovering you for the first time — why should they follow or support your work?
Prachi describes PHA as “a rare and intentional blend of cultural artistry, original storytelling, and Gen Z creative direction.” From henna and illustration to immersive world-building like the Bubbleverse, the goal is to create inclusive, vibrant spaces where identity and authenticity thrive.
What sets your collective apart from others?
“We’re not just creating henna designs—we’re building intellectual property, offering professional-level visual content, and carving out space for queer South Asian American narratives, especially in underrepresented regions like the deep South.”
How can people get involved, collaborate, or support your mission?
Follow PHA on Instagram, join The Peach Pitt community group, subscribe on Ko-fi for exclusive art drops, or book henna and illustration services for your next project. Prachi also welcomes collaborations via LinkedIn for clients seeking thoughtful, intentional visual storytelling.
Looking Forward
Where do you see your collective in the next 1–3 years?
Prachi hopes to expand PHA into large-scale event partnerships, grow the Bubbleverse into multiple media, scale Slime Con, and bring intersectional South Asian storytelling into wider creative industries—all while staying true to her community-centered values.
Any dream collaborations on the horizon?
“I’d love to design for Megan Thee Stallion—imagine a henna-inspired Hot Girl Summer line,” Prachi laughed. “I also dream of designing for musicians, self-made entrepreneurs, and major cultural brands like The Good Dot Store. Until then, I’m focused on building PHA’s creative universe one project at a time.”
